New board. Recycled board. Reclaimed board.
BUILD YOUR OWN BOX is not based on the assumption that every old cardboard box should be reused for every purpose. The system is intended to work with suitable corrugated material, which may include:
- New corrugated sheets
- Recycled-content corrugated blanks
- Purpose-bought cardboard
- Clean reclaimed corrugated board
- Suitable flattened incoming cartons
For food-contact, pharmaceutical, medical or other regulated applications, businesses must use packaging material appropriate to that application.
A food business could therefore use BUILD YOUR OWN BOX with appropriate new or compliant recycled-content blanks. A non-food retailer, online seller, warehouse or maker may also be able to repurpose suitable clean incoming cardboard.
The innovation is the box-making system, not a claim that every piece of waste cardboard is suitable for every use.
Sometimes you don't need a smaller price. You need a smaller box.
Businesses frequently have to select the nearest stocked carton rather than the carton dimensions they would ideally choose. A more appropriately sized box may potentially mean less unused internal volume, less need for void fill, a neater customer delivery, and more flexibility when unusual products need to be shipped.
Potential benefits only. No carrier-price reduction claims are made.
